NACHC says Health Center Budget May Quadruple Over 8 Years

NACHC Tele-Town Halls provide updates from Capitol Hill to Community Health Centers and Primary Care Associations.  The NACHC policy team offer their perspective and participants in these free calls can provide instant, expert feedback and ask questions.

The Tele-Town Hall, broadcasted on September 11th, 2009 on Health Reform Updates offered the following insight.  In response to a question from an FQHC Look-Alike, Dan Hawkins, the Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Research Division, stated:

“We are now going to go from $2 billion, and that’s our current funding, to $4, $5, $6, perhaps even $8 billion. So we’re going to double, triple, or quadruple the funding for health centers. That will mean hundreds of new health centers getting funded.”

The Knox County Planning Grant application scores a perfect, 100 percent!

SGA was engaged by Knox County to provide advice and grant writing assistance on their second planning grant submission to the Bureau of Primary Health Care.  The collaborative effort resulted in a perfect score!  Knox County will spend the next several months conducting a community needs assessment and feasibility study to determine if applying for FQHC status makes sense for their community.
